Mr. Sutton, MSW, School Social Worker
Welcome to the School Social Work Page at Westerly Hills Academy (Pre-K - 8)
As a School Social Worker at Westerly Hills Academy it is my goal to support students, families, staff, and the Westerly Hills Community by identifying needs and addressing them with services and resources to remove barriers to achieving a quality education thereby enhancing the community's overall quality of life. My educational background includes having obtained a Bachelor's Degree (Major in Psychology, Minor in Criminal Justice), and a Master's Degree in Social Work through the COSA Program (Community Organizing/Social Administration).
Having completed post graduate studies and receiving high honors, I have great value in education and have vast experiences that enable me to build a rapport with educational stakeholders and collaborate with them to accomplish the mission of all student's reaching their full potential and becoming life long learners. I have worked in the fields of Clinical Therapy, Community Organizing, Educational Administration, and I am a highly experienced School Social Worker. School Social workers reduce/eliminate barriers to students’ academic achievement through the following: Assessment, Attendance, Truancy, McKinney Vento, and Crisis Intervention. School social workers provide student individual and small group counseling, behavioral interventions, home visits, parent conferences and case management services to identified students and families. Although there tends to be great focus on addressing needs it has become engrained in my passion to recognize those who are achieving and support them through enrichment that propels individuals to continue excelling. It is my pleasure to serve the Westerly Hills Community and if I can work to further support you, please, feel free to contact me. Thank you and have a prosperous year.
